my new year resolution is...

... no resolutions at all!

I decided to make one before my 20th bday in June 2011. I guess it would be more, like, meaningful. positive change on a totally new life. some might say that life begins at 20, so that's exactly when I will. begin a brand new life, I mean.

for now, I could only wish for a better year. after all these madnesses in 2010 guess I need to 'take a breath'. I need to concentrate on my real dream, which I tended to forget due to some continuous distractions. and also I would like to perform better in class, since all I did in 3rd semester was... was... em, nothing.

fine then. right now dad and I are quite hectic looking for a place to spend new year. we've tried to reserve a place in some exquisite restos yet all of them were already full booked. geez, guess all Indonesians got that hidden talent to be a party addict, all of them. just saying

I typed this right after the 2nd leg of Final Match IDN vs MAL. yes, we couldn't win the cup, but Herr Riedl and his whole team has won our people's heart (well, at least they won mine).
I'm proud to be an Indonesian, whatever happens.

well then, hope you'll enjoy these tracks anyways!

paling tidak yang ini sedikit menghibur luka

I totally laughed my ass off to these picts. at least I could find something funny about that M country. I've already cursed too much.

and anyways, I want to share some words I've quoted from ES Ito, an Indonesian blogger/author. his whole writing, titled "Surat Untuk Firman", was already posted on his website www.itonesia.com (due to some errors the link is temporarily unavailable, but you can still read the post here or here). one thing that I could find here : It doesn't matter whether we win or we lose. As long as we play fair, with all of our spirit and soul, it's simply enough.

Jutaan orang lantang bersuara demi sepakbola.

"Tenanglah Markus, gawang bukan semata-mata persoalan kebobolan tetapi masalah kegembiraan membuyarkan impian lawan.

Berjuanglah layaknya seorang laki-laki, kawan."

Nikicio:Femme Resort 2011

sorry for the 2-day delay, good internet connection is sort of rare in Depok. sigh

(click here for direct access to Nikicio's webstore)

anyways talking about the show last Wed, I enjoyed almost the whole package.
the venue was more accessible and easy to find.
the crowd was like, more frenzied compared to the previous show in May. just right after the FinalĂ©, all the pieces from the show were launched and most of the guests simply hastened off to the display and grabbed the closest piece they could reach.

and objectively speaking, I love this new set more than all Nikicio's previous collections. it's delicate, ethnic yet sophisticated, simple and versatile. looked different in some ways, but I can still see Nikicio's main soul laying on each design.

my big huge thumbs go for the slightly comfy fabric, the pretty patterns, the unique-yet-always-versatile cutting, also all the exotic-faced models. Nikicio always has a fine taste on choosing the ladies :)

my most favorite items. is it possible to put them all on my christmas wishlist, please? *ngarep*

if I can sum it all up, I'll call it eye/brain/soul refreshment vs a moment to fall in love again with fashion & high school memories (yes high school, due to the fact that I met quite many high school mates there, all coincidentally).

Me & Argi (announcing mate & owner of Legal&Crime)

Molen & Ribka (also owners of Legal&Crime)

Dhanika, Me & Jovi (Sanurians)

Dhanika, Nadia, Me & Ingrid (Melbournian-Sanurian)

the whole Sanur team plus Bu Nita (math teacher, Nina Nikicio's mom) and some other friends

the radio team : with Argi, Alex, & Dea

... and Nina Nikicio herself!

PSPB 2010 behind the scene

PSPB (Pentas Seni & Pentas Budaya)
An annual event as part of Festival Budaya FIB UI (Cultural Festival of Faculty of Humanities), commonly abbreviated as FesBud. It was always held in December to celebrate FIB's Dies Natalis (some kind of birthday, I guess) and consisted of some sub-events : PSPB & Pawai (both were handled by 2nd year students), Petang Kreatif (theatrical performance by 1st year students), and some other else (didn't know the exact names).

And for PSPB 2010, German 2009 batch proudly presented...
The Sound Of Music, Betawi version
why Betawi? not that we loved the culture so damn much or what, that's just the main requirement of the contest, that's all. to make it even more complicated, they only gave 10 mins for each performance. like, geez? we needed to make our own storyline and deleted sooooo many scenes.

so, our own creation of this classic timeless piece told about a family that ran away from Austria to Batavia (jauh abis emang) to avoid Hitler's authority. the father (Capt von Trapp) needed a nanny, so he hired one (Mariem, yes it's not Maria, I didn't misspell it) from an agen penyalur baby sitter.  all the 7 children were raised with strict military rules, but then the nanny brought them a new cheerful and lively ambience. soon the father fell for herand propose her. then they live happily with lots of karedok and semur jengkol, tadaahhh! (no, the last one wasn't in the story, don't eat that lie).

enough typing, here's some snaps from the showcase preparation ...

masih wanita

step 1 : thick shading

step 2 : thick eyebrow + moustache

et voilá!

the girl on the right was Maria (or Mariem, in this play) ...

this one? yea, me.

Gretl, child #7

Louisa, child #3 (eh apa Brigitta ya namanya? lupa)

Kurt, child #4

the mean babysitter. rawrrrr

Gretl with Marta, child #6

photos from the performance is coming up soon. don't have any, need to wait for the others to upload them. but overall, the whole short-show was beyond expectations. I don't really think about the winner title, but one thing I got from the long-yet-tiring rehearsals : unity in the name of DE 09
