if you call this Canteen, then how would you name FIB's Kansas?

another food review!

Caffe Latte, mine. rate : *** out of *****

Draught Beer, brother's
won't rate this, since I ain't beer expert. daripada tar sotoy

Salmon Teriyaki, sister's. rate : **** out of *****
if you're looking forward to stuff up your tummy with complete meal

Canteen Burger, mine. rate : *** out of *****
much BIGGER that it might look. I couldn't even finish the whole burger myself

Fish en Papilotte, brother's. rate : **** out of *****
grilled dory with broccoli and grilled tomato. juicy yet zesty

summary :
perfect place to hang out til late night. overly crowded, especially on weekends. do avoid peak hours (dinner & lunch time) if you want to save some seats. wide range of food selections, easterns, westerns, indonesians. served in quite big portion, not like other fancy restos with small plates and overrated prices. don't worry your diet dear skinny ladies out there, just share one dish for two and your toned waist is still fine.

one Lebaran celebration by someone who doesn't celebrate it

somehow 2010 feels quite different. the streets are still crowded and so are malls, unlike 2009 when I could feel as if the city was mine (I even only needed 30 mins from Bekasi to Central Jkt!).

now? the crowd doesn't seem to increase. everywhere I went today I saw soooooo many many people. like, MANY of them. I just thought, what's with the word MUDIK? don't 2010 people have it on their dictionary? geez.

sorry for my random rambling. I'll just share my own Lebaran day out (not that I'm celebrating it, but I just feel like joining the cheerio out there :B)

1st stop : Grandpa's House - Bintaro
actually he's not literally my "grandpa". he's a little brother of my deceased grandpa and he lives with his younger sister. both of them are unmarried and live only by two. anw, I call them Opa Min and Oma Njoen.

shortly described, they are so western minded and speak fluent Dutch. sometimes they spoke in Dutch and I couldn't understand anything, unless it sounds a bit like German.

personally, I think they're nice. but I can't stand it everytime Oma starts her "kultum" (that's the way we call her unstoppable speech about how we have to live, how we have to behave, how we have to dress up, bla bla bla).
sorry Oma, I yawn everytime you talked, but doesn't mean I don't love you. hou van jou zoveel Oma Opa :*

took some pictures to reduce my boredom there :

tried to read their Belgian newspaper (I don't even know how they got it), and could only understand one or two words. yea, Dutch is definitely NOT in my blood
(click to enlarge, in case you major Dutch Literature and wanna read it too :D)

if you can see the background, it was my mom talking with Oma. and Opa was in the right.
FYI, daddy's cheek are still severely swollen, so he uses mask everywhere he goes.

today's treat : Belgian Chocolate!
(padahal di Indo juga ada sih -___-")

2nd stop : Grand Indonesia
now GI seems to be my 3rd house, comes after Gading on the 2nd place.

filled up our tummy @ La Porchetta. if I may give a review : nothing's special with the whole resto,  just plainly good.

my all time favorite dish : Caesar Salad. nyam

I was eyeing on Archie's Salmon Salsa Fettuccine. looked so scrumptious

zoomed in. bener2 bikin ngiler ya Tuhaaannn

then went up to Blitz and watched Grown Ups. and it was SUPER. I've never seen mom and dad laughing so hard before. dad even forgot his swollen cheek. he laughed so hard, well, too hard. his entire mouth felt damn hurts after that.  well well...

if one of you feel like watching it, don't hesitate to ask me! I don't mind to dig in my wallet again, the whole movie worths it.

3rd stop : Merlynn Park Hotel - somewhere around Central Jkt
my auntie and his husband from Semarang were coming over here. so we paid a short visit, had some chit chat. then left the hotel around 12 AM, exactly at midnight.

after bought something for tomorrow's breakfast, finally we can drove back home and I can hit my bed again and share all these to you!

so that's how my story ends. see you very soon, as soon as I've got something to share.

and before it's too damn late, I would like to say:

SELAMAT LEBARAN SEMUANYAAAAA!
MAAF LAHIR BATIN YA :)

food explorer on duty : Kitchenette!

just gave a try to Kitchenette this afternoon. before I start, the picts below were taken by cellphone camera so pardon the bad quality. however you can see better images and more details about the resto here

Kitchenette is in Plaza Indonesia Extension, I forgot in which floor it is pokoknya di bawah2 deh. located next to Louis Vuitton and Tod's, to make it easier to find.

the most remarkable thing is the interior. looked a bit like The Apartment (see my previous post), but only the kitchen part. well managed with nice concept.  they also have an open kitchen, so you can see how your dishes are cooked.

enough prologue. let's start refreshing your eyes.

the menu list

forgot the name, but it contained strawberries and kiwis (as you can see -__-)
and tasted simply good

matched my ring! *gapenting sih emang*

I was interested by this, then decided have a regular plate of salad...

and voila, this was it
romaine lettuce with turkey bacon, croutons, corn, and caesar dressing.
as a salad maniac, I could say this one tasted GREAT

RATED : (based on personal opinion)
interior : ****
food : ****
service : ***
price : ***
(bit pricey, but worth the great taste)
TOTAL  : 3,5 out of 5

finished with the scrumptious meal, gada kerjaan, foto2 bentar lah ya

the pictures above were at a salon, waiting for mommy and her new haircut. you know who started the photo session there?
nobody but DADDY.

quoting my sister's tweet (@deaadila) :

"Ya Tuhan, bokap narsis bgt. Bosen nunggu nyokap nyalon dgn PD nya foto" pake BB. Gue tau skrg knapa @yukeadora narsis gitu. Turunan -_-" "

yaa gak heran kalo sekeluarga gw banci foto semua. zzzz

well then, that's all. I'll just be back with other foody reporty, hope it's informative yet useful enough :*

Fashion & Craft Festival 2010, extended

as always, I went with the complete pack of Iskandarians to satisfy daddy's need of every single JCC expos. that was the last day, so most of the SPGs were sort of overenthusiastic and some even gave big discounts.

but talking about the stuffs, I simply can't understand why they called it "Fashion & Craft Fest", since I didn't found too many nice stuffs there. well, I found a few, but (once again) not that many.

I'll just show you the snaps :

borrow daddy's silver tiger ring. rawrrr

whole look of the day. wearing the heels I just bought with super affordable price. bold : affordable

inside the expo :

they even gave away some free magazines there. lucky I got an Elle

my sister kinda liked the pendant, since it looks like a "D". well, speaking about narcissism..

bought two giant rings and a necklace there. will post the picts later ya, males motonya kemaren :s

I left at around 8 PM and was superdamnextrahyper HUNGRY, since I ate almost nothing for lunch. then decided to have dinner @ Yoshinoya GI. daddy was curious, there was always long queue everytime we passed there. so why don't give a try?

well, for me the dish taste good, just plainly good.

my sister and I were starving that we finished the meal so fast. then took some picts just to kill time

paid a short visit to 7-Eleven, sister and brother wanted to buy something for next day's breakfast.

my own signature mix, you wanna try?

I wonder why her face always look like this hahaha

okay done with my report. I'll post something more interesting next time, (hopefully).
lots of X

happy happy celebration

June 24th : my parents' 20th wedding anniversary
June 25th : my 19th bday

so we deserve a celebration, right?

about my birthday, well this year is kinda plain. no surprise, no blasting gift, no party, no BF. and honestly, I'm just not feeling excited at all.

well, you don't need to be such a trashbin while I'm blabbering like a labil little girl. I'll just try to banish all the bad mood away :)

so, we decided to have dinner here :

The Apartment Resto & Bar

Menara Gracia GF
(next to Australian Embassy)
Jl HR Rasuna Said Kav C-17
Jakarta 12940
tel 021 - 520 0380
fax 021 - 522 0939
theapartment@culinaryconcepts.asia
sun - thu 8-30 am - 12.00 am
fri - sat 8.30 - 2.00 am

I'm interested to pay a visit after reading some reviews in magazines and hearing opinions from some friends. the resto itself looks like a real home, with rooms like bathroom, pantry, library, bedroom, etc.

but when I came, it was so crowded that it was impossible for me to took some pictures. most of the visitors were teenagers of my age or eksmud2 dandy nan sophisticated. and me? I came with families. peep peep! wrong choice.

since I couldn't take any pict of the interior, I grabbed these pictures from their facebook group.

bathroom zone

bedroom zone

the library

and the menu list

from now, my pictures. voila!

here are some of the dishes we had, and I strongly recommend these ones :

caesar salad with extra salmon

prime ribs

and this is my MOST RECOMMENDED :

black burger

have a happy celebration people, wherever you are!
